After a short summer break, a series of educational webinars on the topic of monitoring endangered and protected species continued in September. After the previous two, which were dedicated to birds species monitoring (capercaillies and barn owl), the third webinar focused on the protection of protected and endangered mammal species, on the example of the most mysterious wild cat in Europe – the Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx).
Many thanks to the great lecturer, Assoc. prof. dr. sc. Magda Sindičić, from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Zagreb, on the occasion to hear from the closest source about the experiences of saving the Dinaric and Southeastern lynx population from extinction, as well as on the methodologies used to monitor this species.
